Dr. Fatih Shahbaz – Chief Executive Director
He was born in 1981 in Sorgun, Yozgat. He graduated from the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Selçuk University and from the Faculty of Law of Doğuş University. He completed his master’s degree in Economics at the Institute of Social Sciences of Marmara University and earned his PhD in Political Science and Public Administration at Istanbul Medeniyet University.
At Türkiye Halk Bankası A.Ş., he has held positions as a banking officer, internal controller, department manager, branch manager, division director, and group chairman. As of 22 November 2022, he also served as Deputy General Manager in charge of Support Services and Human Resources.
Mr. Şahbaz has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Halkbank A.D. Skopje since 27 July 2020, and on 16 December 2025 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Halkbank A.D. Skopje.
MSc Aleksandar Iljov – Executive Director
Mr. Aleksandar Iljov was born in 1977 in Skopje. After graduating from the University of St. Cyril and Methodius with a degree in Financial Management, Mr. Iljov began his career in October 2000 at Halkbank AD Skopje (formerly IK Banka) as a Referent in the Foreign Exchange Operations Department. He completed his master’s studies at the same university in the field of Financial Management. From 2001 onward, Mr. Iljov held various positions in the Bank, including Referent in the Domestic and International Payment Operations Department, Credit Referent for small and medium-sized enterprises, and in April 2005 he was promoted to Director of the Customer Relations Department. He later served as Director of the Marketing Division and Director of the Corporate Branch. From 2014 until February 2024, Mr. Iljov performed the role of Director of the Marketing Division, where among his many responsibilities he was also accountable for the sales function across all branches through which the Bank marketed its products and services. His next professional challenge and responsibility is as a member of the Management Board of Halkbank AD Skopje, a position he assumed on February 8, 2024, following a decision by the Supervisory Board of Halkbank AD Skopje and after obtaining prior approval from the National Bank.
According to the Bank’s organizational structure, Mr. Iljov is responsible for the Marketing and Digital Banking Division, as well as the International Banking, Assets, and Liquidity Division.
Dr. Berkan Imeri – Executive Director
Mr. Berkan Imeri was born in 1980 in Gostivar. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. He completed his master’s studies at the Economic Institute in Skopje. In 2023, at the American College University in Skopje, Faculty of Business Economics and Organizational Sciences, he earned the title of Doctor of Economic Sciences. Mr. Imeri began his career in June 2010 at Halkbank A.D. Skopje in the Gostivar Branch as a Referent in retail sales. Throughout his career, he worked in the Retail Banking Division, the Directorate for the Branch Network, the Directorate for Marketing and Corporate Client Sales, served as Deputy Director of the Directorate for Financial Management, Planning and Reporting, and later as Director of the same Directorate. In 2017, based on his long-standing experience and knowledge gained within the Bank, he became Director of the Financial Management, Planning and Reporting Division, a position which, among other responsibilities, included membership in the Risk Management Board and the Asset and Liability Management Committee. Mr. Imeri was appointed as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors, i.e., a member of the Supervisory Board of Halk Insurance A.D. Skopje, from January 30, 2019 until October 2, 2023, during which time he also served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. His next professional challenge and responsibility is as a member of the Management Board of Halkbank A.D. Skopje, a role he assumed on February 8, 2024, following a decision by the Supervisory Board of Halkbank A.D. Skopje and after obtaining prior approval from the National Bank.
As Executive Director, Mr. Imeri is responsible for the Risk and Financial Management Division, the Credit Risk Monitoring, Collection of Risky Claims and Legal Affairs Division, and the Human Resources and Organization Division.
MSc Muhammed Hadzipazi – Executive Director
Mr. Hadzipazi graduated in Economics from the Faculty of Economics at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. He completed his master’s studies in Financial Management at the Economic Institute in Skopje. He began his career at the Bank in 2007 as a Referent for retail lending in the Gostivar Branch. In 2009, he was appointed Director of the Gostivar Branch, and in 2010, Director of the Directorate for the Branch Network. In 2012, he was appointed Director of the Directorate for Marketing and SME Sales. In June 2017, he was promoted to Director of the Human Resources, Organization and Training Division, responsible for the Directorate of Human Resources and Organization and the Directorate of Administrative Affairs. With the new organizational structure in February 2024, Mr. Hadzipazi was appointed Director of the Operations Division, under which fall the Domestic Payment Operations Directorate, the International Payment Operations Directorate, the Credit and Deposit Operations Directorate, the Digital Banking Operations Directorate, and the Cash Operations Directorate. In March 2025, Mr. Hadzipazi was appointed Executive Director and member of the Management Board, responsible for the Operations Division, the Lending Division, and the Information Systems Division. Throughout his career, he has been an active member of numerous committees and boards, as well as a member of business chambers and associations.
