SUPPORT FOR SPORTS AND CULTURE
As part of its sustainability strategy, Halkbank AD Skopje continuously invests in initiatives that improve quality of life, encourage a healthy spirit, and contribute to the development of cultural values in society.
Through its support for sports and culture, Halkbank does not only invest in events, but in lasting values: health, team spirit, discipline, talent, creativity, and national pride. With such partnerships, the bank creates a positive impact today while also building a stronger, more creative, and more sustainable future for the generations to come.
SUPPORT FOR SPORTS
Halkbank is a long-term partner and one of the key supporters of Macedonian handball. At the end of 2025, by signing an agreement with the Handball Federation, the cooperation was officially extended into 2026, confirming the bank’s commitment to the national sport.
A special place in sports activities is held by the traditional race HalkEco Skopje Run 10K, one of the largest mass recreational sporting events in the country, where the bank was also the title sponsor last year. Through this partnership, Halkbank motivates citizens toward an active and healthy lifestyle while promoting environmental care through the HalkEco platform.
In 2025, the bank once again organized the sixth traditional time-trial cycling race Halk Velo Green, held every year on September 8 in Mavrovo, where cycling enthusiasts compete, socialize, and have fun. As every year, participation fees were used for reforestation and the purchase of new seedlings.
The bank was also present in promoting sports events and an active lifestyle through various partnerships and prize campaigns, including the campaign with Visa that enabled attendance at a Formula 1 race in Budapest.
SUPPORT FOR CULTURE
Halkbank AD Skopje is also one of the largest corporate supporters of culture in North Macedonia, with continuous investments in institutions, artists, festivals, and contemporary creative projects, confirmed through the slogan “Culture Matters.”
The most significant step forward in 2026 is the partnership with the Macedonian National Theatre, where Halkbank became the main annual partner. Through this cooperation, the bank directly contributes to the development of theatrical art and supports one of the most important national cultural institutions.
In 2025, Halkbank continued to be one of the key supporters of the International Cinematographers’ Film Festival “Manaki Brothers.” For several consecutive years, the bank has been one of the main partners of this renowned festival in Bitola, nurturing film art and tradition.
Halkbank is also a long-time friend of the Beach Film Festival in Ohrid, which promotes new European cinema in a unique lakeside setting. In 2025, the bank supported the realization of the festival’s eighth edition through various activities.
In the music scene, the bank continued its cooperation with Macedonian music diva Kaliopi. After sponsoring her major concert held in October 2024 at the Boris Trajkovski Arena, it also supported her autumn concert season last year, which included a series of four sold-out acoustic concerts at the Macedonian Philharmonic.
In March 2025, Halkbank received recognition for the project “Lasting Cultural Values,” which was declared the best corporate event of 2024. This award confirmed the bank’s long-term commitment to preserving and promoting Macedonian cultural heritage.
The bank also supported the event SintEZa, a multimedia event that brings together young artists from seven different faculties, creating space for new ideas, interdisciplinary collaboration, and contemporary artistic expression.
At Socialize Festival 2025, the bank won awards for digital design and marketing videos, confirming its orientation toward modern digital culture, creative industries, and innovative communication.
Additionally, through its corporate social responsibility strategy, Halkbank regularly purchases works from local authors, including photographs from the Photo Association of the Republic of North Macedonia.
